5 Tips for showing your home over the Holiday
1.
Do not be afraid to
ask for notice: You'd be surprised how much you can accomplish
in an hour, and most buyers asking to put you out of your home during this time
of year understand the delay.
2. Visit a neighbour:
You may not have the ability to leave your home with a roasting turkey in the
oven, or uncle Joe half tanked on your couch, but if it is possible, please
step out to a neighbours, or take your party to a single room in the house to
give Buyers the privacy to view your home to their best ability.
3.
Inform your guests:
Let your guests know you are selling your home and that there is potential for interruption
for showings. A little pre-thought and warning can make the whole process go a
little smoother.
4.
Smile!
If all else fails, greet potential buyers and their realtors as guests to your Holiday
event. It will make them feel comfortable and that in itself is a huge selling
tool.
5.
Offer a second
showing: Guests, Turkey, and Presents. A holiday showing can be
hectic. Allowing a buyer in is a big first step, but they may not get to see
all aspects of the home during this rushed visit. Offer them a day and time to
return to your home to see the property again. If the buyers are seriously interested
they will take up your offer and visit again.
