We can all use a little savings. Here are a few government programs designed to put a little more $$$ back in your pocket.
- Healthy Home Renovation Tax
Credit: If you are renovating your home to meet the needs
of a family member over the age of 65, or for yourself if you are over the age
of 65. More information

- Homeowner Residential
Rehabilitation Assistance Program: Otherwise known as the
Homeowner RRAP: The program helps people who live in substandard
dwellings and cannot afford to pay for necessary repairs to their home. More information

Heating and Cooling Rebate
Program: Receive up to $650 by installing ENERGY STAR®
qualified central heating and cooling system when purchased from and installed
by a participating contractor.

here Senior Homeowners' Property Tax
Grant: If you are 64 or older and you own a home, you could
qualify to get up to $500 to help with the cost of your property taxes.

here Energy-Efficient
Housing: you could be eligible for a 10% mortgage loan
insurance premium refund and extended amortization without surcharge when you
use CMHC insured financing to purchase that house or condominium unit.

NOTE: As of, January 27, 2012, The federal government's ecoENERGY Retrofits- Homes program is now no longer accepting new registrants. This program enabled eligible homeowners to receive grants of up to $5,000 to make their homes more energy-efficient but due to the popularity of the program only registrants before Jan 28, 2012 will be accepted. If you are already enrolled in this program and have completed your energy audit, you still have until June 30th to submit your receipts.
