TREB January 2012 Housing Charts Released
Home prices in the TREB districts are higher then they were last year even though the sales numbers were only marginally higher. I think we are seeing this trend because the supply of listings remains low. This is a difinitive Sellers market, however with interest rates still sitting at an all time low (I mean they have NEVER been this low, ever) So even though prices of houses are selling high, the affordability for buyers is still there.
The volume of houses sold throughout the TREB districts is looking much the same as last year. With little change in interest rates, I predict a market very simular to 2011.
So if you were thinking of Buying or Seling Real Estate in Keswick last year but couldn't for one reason or another give us a call. Interest rates wont stay this low forever, and the competition will only get steeper as more homes hit the market, which can sometimes lower your overall sales price.
